Judy Genshaft Honors College at ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ Sarasota-Manatee: Operational Transition Information

To support college-wide operational efficiency, the Judy Genshaft Honors College will close its Sarasota-Manatee campus office in August 2026, following the conclusion of the 2025–26 academic year. As a result, the college will no longer offer Honors courses or programming at ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ Sarasota-Manatee after the summer 2026 semesters and will no longer admit first-time-in-college applicants to the Judy Genshaft Honors College at the campus.

For Current Sarasota-Manatee Honors Students 

The Judy Genshaft Honors College and ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ Sarasota-Manatee are fully committed to helping all current Honors students complete the program within their established timelines.

• Personalized, one-on-one academic counseling will be available throughout your time in the college.
• Dedicated office hours will be offered to answer questions and provide additional support.
• Additional Honors course sections will be available during spring and summer 2026 semesters to give currently enrolled students sufficient opportunities to fulfill their Honors requirements.
• If your graduation timeline changes, the Honors College will work with you to ensure you can complete your Honors requirements. 

For Incoming Fall 2025 Sarasota-Manatee Honors Students 

While no new Sarasota-Manatee students will be admitted to the Honors College after the fall 2025 class, we are excited to welcome the final cohort of Sarasota-Manatee students this fall. 

• All incoming students will receive academic advising to help plan their Honors coursework and extracurricular requirements.
• Students who decide not to remain in the Honors College will be fully supported through the withdrawal process.
• Ongoing academic advising and access to dedicated office hours will be available to ensure a smooth transition and continued academic success. 

For Prospective Sarasota-Manatee Honors Students

The Judy Genshaft Honors College will not admit new students at the Sarasota-Manatee campus after the fall 2025 term. 

• Prospective students interested in joining the Honors College are encouraged to explore opportunities at ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ’s Tampa and St. Petersburg campuses.

For Sarasota-Manatee Honors Affiliate Faculty and Staff 

• 2025-26 Judy Genshaft Honors College affiliate faculty will not be impacted by this change. The Honors College continues to prioritize offering innovative and engaging courses led by ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ Sarasota-Manatee’s outstanding faculty.
• Staff currently serving the Sarasota-Manatee campus will remain with the Honors College and support both the student transition and college-wide operations across the Tampa and St. Petersburg campuses.
