Admission Application Deadlines
- Fall Semester: June 1
- Spring Semester: October 15
- Summer Semester: February 15
The application deadlines noted above represent the date in which your Graduate Certificate application must be submitted. The Office of Graduate Studies reviews Graduate Certificate applications on a rolling basis. You will have time to submit additional materials such as your transcripts after these posted deadlines.
Students who are enrolled in a graduate degree program and would like to add a graduate certificate should apply for admission to the graduate certificate during, or prior to the completion of, their first graduate certificate course, but MUST APPLY no later than the deadline to apply for graduation (typically the fourth week of the semester in which the student plans to graduate with the graduate degree). For degree-seeking students, the Office of Graduate Studies will waive the application fee.
Graduate Certificate Application Process
To apply for admission, you must:
- Complete the for admission
- Please select "Graduate Certificate" as the Student Type
- Pay the non-refundable $30 application fee (waived for degree-seeking students)
- Upload the following required documents:
- Unofficial transcripts from each college or university you attended, to include military credits and CLEP scores. Please note that official transcripts are required after admission.
- Proof of if applicable
- For international students, submit the following required materials:
- Transcripts from each college or university attended in the United States and/or transcript evaluations of all coursework completed outside of the United States (Note: Transcript evaluations must be conducted by an NACES affiliated evaluation agency).
- If you do not hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) conferred within the United States or from a designated English-speaking country, you must submit proof of English proficiency testing pursuant to the .
- Upload the following recommended documents:
- Up-to-date resume or CV
- Statement of Purpose
- Two letters of recommendation from someone of authority who can speak to the applicant's academic and/or professional abilities

Notes for International Applicants:
- Graduate Certificate students are NOT eligible for a student visa based on enrollment in a certificate; only degree-seeking students are eligible for a student visa.
- International students who will be entering the U.S. while enrolled in either on-campus or online courses at ľ¹ÏÊÓÆµ must provide proof of health insurance to ľ¹ÏÊÓÆµ. If an international student is not attending on a student visa, only proof of insurance coverage is required.

Some Graduate Certificates that lead to licensure may require additional materials. Please read the specific certificate program page in the to determine if any additional application materials are required. If you are applying to multiple Graduate Certificates, please apply for each one separately.
NOTE: The graduate certificates in and observe a separate admissions process. Information can be found on their respective pages.
Students actively enrolled in a degree program, who are concurrently enrolling in courses toward completion of a graduate certificate, MUST apply for admission to the Graduate Certificate no later than the deadline to apply for graduation, which is typically the fourth week of the semester in which the student plans to graduate with the graduate degree. Further, all students enrolled in certificate courses, including those who are concurrently enrolled in a degree program, must submit a certificate completion form for approval before the degree is conferred. Once the degree is conferred, it is no longer possible to be admitted to a Graduate Certificate using graduate courses from the major.
