No Surprises Act
The No Surprises Act is a U.S. federal law aimed at protecting patients from surprise medical bills. These surprise bills often happen when a patient unknowingly receives care from an out-of-network provider, such as during emergencies or when they receive care at an in-network facility but are treated by an out-of-network provider.
