From ballet to brain injury advocacy: Meet ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ student and Miss Tampa Alexandra de Roos

After a concussion ended her dream of professional ballet, Alexandra de Roos enrolled at ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ as a double major in biomedical sciences and psychology with the goal of becoming a neuropsychiatrist. She was also recently crowned Miss Tampa and plans to use her pulpit to promote brain trauma awareness.

To commemorate her almost-two decades of service, the ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ Libraries’ Andy Huse, Associate Librarian in Special Collections, sat with President Genshaft to record her final oral history on May 22, 2019.

The University of South Florida System has flourished under President Judy Genshaft. Now, she continues her transformational leadership – this time through a historic gift. President Genshaft and her husband, Steve Greenbaum, have donated $20 million to the ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ Foundation. This marks one of the largest gifts ever made to ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ.
