About my research
Growing up spending every summer at the beach in New Jersey, I’ve had a sense of curiosity and appreciation for the ocean. I knew from a young age that I wanted to discover ways to make a difference by bettering the environment. In 2024, I graduated from Rowan University with a B.S. in environmental science, where I studied the impacts of sea-level rise on salt marsh methane emissions and the potential of using tidal restoration as a natural climate solution. Throughout this experience, I truly gained a passion for field work and conducting impactful research that benefits our planet. At ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ, I’m pursuing a M.S. degree in the lab of Weiyi Tang. I plan to expand upon my undergraduate research focus by studying emissions and concentrations of greenhouse gases, specifically methane and nitrous oxide along the western Florida Shelf.
Why ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ CMS?
After my first visit to campus, I could easily see myself thriving at the ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ College of Marine Science. The CMS community demonstrated such overwhelming support for student led research in their program. Located on the water alongside plentiful resources for oceanographic research, ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ made me feel set up for success as I further my academic career. By attending ľ¹ÏÊÓƵ, I hope to gain broader knowledge that expands from the coast to open ocean, while also getting to collaborate with fellow scientists who share the same passion for marine science.
